How does GIF compression work?
The tool can reduce dimensions, use fewer colors and keep every other frame. It rebuilds the animation instead of copying the source bytes.
Why can GIF colors look different?
GIF supports at most 256 colors per frame. Photographs and gradients may shift slightly when reduced to a smaller palette.
