What happens to transparent pixels in JPG?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are placed on a white background before download.
Why is there no quality control for PNG?
PNG output is lossless, so the usual lossy quality setting does not apply.
Are original metadata and hidden blocks copied?
No. Converted files are newly encoded from decoded pixels.
